System Fieldbase

Watlington · United Kingdom

Charts of leavers, FTE and cover that HR and finance can argue from the same page.

System Fieldbase is a small practice that commissions workforce planning and attrition studies for employers. We do not sell software. We sit with your extracts, draw the figures the board actually needs, and stay in the room while the numbers are tested.

What you receive

A pack a director can open without a translator

Most clients already have payroll extracts and a turnover percentage in a slide. What they lack is a set of figures that survive a finance question: which sites, which grades, which months, and what it would cost to hold the line.

Board briefing pack

Twelve to twenty pages: establishment versus occupied posts, leavers by tenure, replacement cost, and two or three headcount scenarios with assumptions written in plain English.

Leaver maps

Voluntary and involuntary exits plotted by site, grade, length of service and notice month — so a single company-wide rate is no longer the only number in the room.

On-site briefing day

We walk HR, finance and the relevant operational lead through the pack. Disputed lines are marked on the day; a revised page follows within a week.

Flagship commission

Workforce planning commission

An eight-to-twelve-week study for employers who need next year’s establishment, hiring freeze options, or a restructure that finance will actually sign. We work from your HR and payroll extracts, not from a generic industry ratio.

Included: scoping call, data checklist, two working sessions, the pack, and a briefing day at your offices or ours in Watlington.

Attrition pattern review

Four to six weeks on one function or site: who is leaving, in which month, after how long, and what the last twelve months of replacements actually cost.

Establishment audit

A reconciliation of funded posts, occupied posts, vacancies and acting-up arrangements — the work that usually sits between HR and finance and belongs to neither calendar.

From a recent pack

“They refused to print a single turnover figure on page one. That irritated the chief executive for ten minutes and then saved us from a hiring freeze that would have hit the wrong ward.”

How a first conversation usually goes

You send a payroll extract or an establishment spreadsheet as it stands. We tell you, before any fee is agreed, whether the columns will support a leaver map or whether you first need a month of cleaning. If the latter, we say so. We do not invent a study the file cannot bear.

Read the working method or the rate notes before you write.

The order of a board briefing pack

Cover note, figure list, establishment, leavers by tenure, replacement cost, scenarios, then the company-wide rate in an appendix. The chair’s three likely questions sit on page two.

What to bring to a first scoping call

Four things that save a week: the committee date, the sites in play, who owns the extract, and a list of column headings with no personal rows attached.
