About

Two rooms, a long table, and files that have to survive finance

System Fieldbase is a partnership based at 44 Simone Weil Avenue, Watlington. We prepare workforce planning figures and attrition studies for UK employers. The practice is named for the field β€” the actual sites and grades β€” not for a product.

## Origin Helen Marsh spent twelve years in workforce information inside a large East of England employer, where the annual planning round meant reconciling three spreadsheets that had never been designed to meet. Priya Nair came from a care-group finance team that funded posts HR could not fill. They started the practice in Watlington so that the work of joining those two lists could have a named desk, a named pack, and a briefing day that did not vanish into β€œthe HR update.” The office is a converted pair of rooms at Simone Weil Avenue. Clients who prefer not to host a briefing day come here: tea, printed pages, and enough wall to pin a site map. ## How we work We take the extract as it is, not as a textbook would like it. If leave reasons are a jumble of free text, we say how many days it will take to group them, and we price that separately. We write assumptions in sentences. We will sit in a room with a sceptical finance director and change a page rather than defend a chart we no longer believe. We decline work that requires us to put a single company-wide leaver rate on the cover. That is a value, not a slogan: that number has wasted too many committee hours. ## People

## Relationship with clients You keep the files. You keep the pack. We do not retain a copy of person-level extracts after the commission closes, except the anonymised working tables needed for the refund window described in our [refund notice](/refund/). Repeat work is by a new instruction, or by the [quarterly headcount watch](/services/quarterly-headcount-watch/) if you want a calendar. If you want a first conversation, [write to us](/contact/).
